The secret of our organic frying oil lies in the use of high oleic sunflower seeds. This is a special type of sunflower with a particular high content of oil acid, which is a mono-unsaturated fatty acid. This content may make up to 70 % and is therefore responsible for withstanding even high temperatures.
Like all organic oils from Byodo, the Frying Oil Sunflower is won through a cold-pressing process, which is gentle on nutrients – naturally won from the first pressing. This is followed by a steam wash (=deodorization), where intensive dyestuffs and flavouring agents are extracted from the oil at low temperatures. In this way the oil becomes more thermally stable and turns notably mild in flavour.
